SEARCH AND RESCUE COMMAND OPERATIONS
Shawn Hornbeck Search and Rescue Team (SHSAR) has become a leader in the area of Command Operations on an Search and Rescue mission. As most search teams in the midwest have grown, they have focused on the basics of SAR with primarily working on Ground Team Operations and K-9 Operations, but have not focused too much on Command Operations as it takes numerous resources and equipment, as well as training and experience to perform this task. To fill the void the SHSAR Team has trained extensivly and has been asked perform Command Operations for numerous searches for other teams, law enforcement, fire departments and Emergency Management Agencies.

SHSAR has extensive experience in organizing large numbers of volunteers and can provide coordination and leadership for your volunteer search efforts. Our Command Center team is activated immediately when requested by law enforcement or the family of the missing child. Some of the services that SHSAR provides are:

  • Command Center set-up
  • Software to track and maintain all search related information
  • Sexual offender database
  • Coordination and leadership for volunteer search efforts
  • Topo, aerial and satellite mapping systems
  • Missing child website and hosting
  • Flyer distribution (email, fax, printed, egreeting cards)
  • Printed and electronic forms
