HIGH PRIORITY

PICKUP TRUCK OR LARGE SUV

With the recent donation of a 16' enclosed trailer for our gear and mobile command operations we are in need of a 3/4 Ton Pickup or a large SUV that would be capable of towing the trailer to trainings and search events. This is an urgent request as we have the trailer but are unable to currently move it as none of our current team members have a vehicle that can tow it, so it is unable to be utilized if the need was there! Please contact us for additional information and requirements.

ENCLOSED EQUIPMENT TRAILER

Missouri Valley is looking for an enclosed trailer that can be used for storage or for a combined storage/command center on searches. As the team has grown, so has our gear inventory and having to pack and store the gear after each training and search takes valuable time away from performing our tasks. We do not have a specific size or model in mind as we are open to ideas and suggestions. An ideal size would be something that is at least a 7'x14' trailer ( with a 6.5ft+ height as we will be having personnel going in and out and we could use the head room as some members are a little taller than average! )

POWER SUPPLY

Most trainings and searches occur away from power sources, but many of the command functions we provide we need to have clean, reliable power. We are looking for a power supply source similar to a EcoFlow Portable Power Station that has at least 2,000kwh power capacity. This super quiet power source would let us work in areas that has no external power, allow us to hear our radio communications, and more.

UHF/VHF MOBILE BASE RADIO

MOVAL is looking to upgrade equipment that is approaching 22+ years old for radio communications in the field. We currently are using 2 different Motorola base station radios that ONLY utilize the UHF channels ( only 4 channels are able to be used ), but we are in need of a base station unit that can chat with both UHF and VHF radios in the field and can be easily programmed to allow us to talk to different agencies that we are called in by.

HAM RADIO INSTRUCTOR

We have several members that are looking to obtain their HAM License and are looking for an instructor that would be willing to help teach classes to the members in order to help them study for their HAM Radio Test.

FLAT BOTTOM BOAT/INFLATABLE BOAT

We are looking for a flat bottom boat that we can use on searches for not only searchers, but K-9's as well. When tasked with helping to do water searches we need boats that allow us to get very close to shore so a flat bottom boat or a larger inflatable boat that is capable of holding 2-3 searchers plus a working K-9. The materials of the boat need to be very sturdy as we will have K-9's in it with possibly sharp nails ( that could tear/poke thin vinyl material ).

DRONETAG BEACON

Starting September 16, 2023 all drones flown commercially will be required to transmit its callsign and location using an ID beacon to other aircraft and drone users. Currently the drones that MOVAL utilizes do not have this option already installed. A stand-alone beacon can satisfy the FAA's requirement and allow us to continue our drone searches.

Drone with FLIR/Night Vision

The drones we currently utilize have only optical cameras, so we can only see what normal light lets us see. We are not able to use the drones in the dark, nor are we able to detect objects based on heat which is critical in woods or large open areas like fields. A drone unit that has FLIR and/or Night Vision would allow us to expand our resource options. We are looking for other manufacturers other than DJI as these drones may be grounded due to the US Government.
COST: Drones that can do this run from about $7,500-$10,000 depending on features

GEOMAPPING SOFTWARE SUBSCRIPTIONS

To be able to process drone scanned areas that can show current terrain and items in the field we need to utilize software that stitches all of the drone data together and allow us to plot them on mapping software, such as Google Earth. This software controls the flight path of the drone to do a grid that creates 1 large image that can be zoomed in on and analyzed in the field to see if we can see clues or updated information as most aerial photos are several years old.
COST: Varies depending on services and processing speed

Drone Batteries

We are always looking for additional drone batteries as the more batteries we have, the longer we can continue to search without having to recharge the ones we have. Batteries only last between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the drone, but it takes even longer to charge each one, so we require multiple batteries per drone. If you are able to help with a battery, please contact us and we can let you know the type needed, based on drone priority.
COST: Between $75 to $99 per battery

ENCLOSED EQUIPMENT TRAILER

We are looking for a trailer ( see above ) or a self contained vehicle that we can use for Command Operations on scene. There is not a unit like this in our search area that is dedicated ONLY to Search and Rescue. Most other command vehicles are multipurpose and come from either a fire department or a county EMA. They are not equipped for focusing on search and rescue operations. We can utilize vehicles such as: ambulance, shuttle bus, low entry style box truck ( like U-Haul ), RV, or a tall pull behind trailer with side door. We are open to any and all suggestions.

6 FOOT FOLDING TABLES

We are always looking for 6 FOOT Plastic Topped Folding Tables that we can utilize outdoors for searches and training. The tables need to fold in order to be able to fit within an SUV.

Wide Format Printer

We are looking for printers that can print wider than 8.5 inches ( 11x17 or 13x19 ) as we can use these printers to help us print larger maps on scene.

SOLID TOP POP-UP TENT

We are looking to find a 10x10 or 10x20 foot Pop-Up style tent that has a SOLID/OPAQUE TOP and SIDES. The tent we currenly use is white and lets in lots of light which makes using our computers at our events very hard as it washes out the screens making it difficult to see when typing and creating the cards.

4 FOLDING CHAIRS

We are looking for 4 Folding Chairs ( we currently have folding chairs from Sam's Club, so similar would be appreciated ) for our events for our data entry team as well as for our kids to sit in for their photos. We are looking for ones that can be used indoors or out.

1-2 WINDOWS BASED LAPTOPS

We are looking to upgrade our current laptops as they are both running Windows 10, which will no longer be supported after October of 2025. These computers run our photo software to capture the kids photos as well as allowing us to create the cards at our events. We need computers that can run Windows 11 and idealy have 15 or 17 inch screens ( to make typing easier ), and a hard wired Nework Jack ( or a USB to Network Dongle ) is required as we setup a local network between them to share the photos.

VOLUNTEERS TO HIDE FOR US

As when we are called out on a search the people are always different we are looking for volunteers that would be willing to spend a few hours and 'hide' for us in the woods! These trainings can take place at different locations and we will work with you.

HUMAN REMAINS SENT MATERIALS

Do you know anyone getting ready to have a new baby? We would love to talk with them to see if they would be willing to help our Human Remains Detection K-9 Team with some 'material' that they can use to train with. Did you know that the afterbith is an excellent source of material that the dogs can use to train on as it will decay and smell just like human decomposition in the field! We are also always looking for anyone that may be having surgeries or even people that can help collect blood and/or small samples as these can work too. Having a tooth pulled...even those will work! Just let us know and we will give more info!

BATTERY POWERED FANS

We are looking for several battery powered fans that we can use to help keep the dogs cool while they are at searches and trainings as they are in their kennels. It would be helpful if the batteries would be rechargeable vs having to replace them ( due to cost and waste of the batteries ).
